June 23, 1916 - February 14, 2021
Passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 104 on February 14, 2021 at Mountain View seniors facility. June was born June 23, 1916 in Vancouver BC to her mother Maude Leslie and father William Leslie who she never met as he was killed in World War I.
June lived a very active life spending lots of time outdoors golfing skiing, boating, tennis and travelled to many places in the world. Later in life she took up round dancing and many social activities at the Evergreen Senior Center in Courtenay BC. She attributed her longevity to eating oatmeal, keeping active, being social and fresh air.
June was predeceased by her husband Chuck in 1988, She survived by her son Miles, daughter Lorna, grandchildren Christine, Jackie, and Ian and four great grandchildren Jacob, Michaela, Aaron, Taylor and two great-great-grandchildren Charlotte and Maren.
Our family would like to thank all the caregivers and doctors that took care of her for the past few years. We would also like to thank the HMCS Alberni museum for their display of her father's WW1 memorabilia and family history.
No service by request, in Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the SPCA as she adored animals and has always supported that cause.
