LORNE JOHNSTON

February 23, 1954 - October 28, 2009

On a rainy October afternoon, we lost our wonderful husband, father and friend to a short but valiant battle with cancer.

Predeceased by his mother and father Norman and Shirley Johnston and father-in-law Dave Carmichael

Survived by his beloved wife, best friend and fishing buddy Sue, his sons Mike (Misty), and Lorne Jr., his brother Norman, sister Pat and other family in Ontario. His extended family: Jay (Cheryl), Dave (Kayla), Terri (Jeremy), Craig, Cole and special buddies Aiden and Abby, great friends and family - mother-in-law Marion Carmichael, sister and brother-in-law Deb Dewar and Ron Hunchiak, Mary Carmichael (Al), Dave Carmichael (Colleen).

Lorne was best know for his hard work ethic and spotlessly clean warehouse at the business he and Sue created, South Country Feed and Supply. There he became known for his friendliness and interesting political views. Lorne and Sue enjoyed their brief semi-retirement - fishing, staying at their cottage and travelling. Lorne was a visonary and hoped one day wars would be no more, all children would be plump and healthy and we humans would learn to repect one another.

He will be sorely missed by his many friends and family.

Please join us at Lorne’s Memorail Celebration with tea to follow at the Comox Valley Presbyterian Church, 725 Aspen Rd., Comox on Saturday, November 7th at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations to his memory can be made to Comox Valley Hospice Society (who were such a wonderful help to us) at 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, BC V9M 1P2.

Life is like one big fishing trip!
