Lorretta was born in Vancouver on Dec 18, 1949. She lived in Kelsey Bay until 1957, when her family moved to Campbell River and lived there until 1981. After that she moved to Cumberland where she spent the rest of her life. She died peacefully at her home after a lengthy struggle with ALS, surrounded by her family.

She is predeceased by her father Chester Watkins, mother Annie Scavlebo, sister Beverly Watkins and grand-dog Ruby Red.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Glen Waldref; her brothers Ken Watkins and Ron (Lorraine) Watkins, and her sister Barbara (Lloyd) Rowbotham. She is also survived by her daughters Loretta Curtis (David Jay) and Theresa Brydon; and three grandsons Ronny (Carly), Gregory (Jennifer) and Andrew, as well as many nieces and nephews.

We would like to say thank you to Dr. Nap, Dr. Kind, Dr. Reggler and all the nurses and caregivers at Comox Valley Community Health Services.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Elks Hall located at 231 - 6th Street, Courtenay BC, from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
