Ninatti, Lydia Alma

September 20, 1938 - February 8, 2007

Lydia passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her loving family by her side, following a four year battle with cancer which she fought with courage and humour to the end.

A resident of Royston, Lydia was born and raised in Cumberland and lived much of her life there. She was predeceased by her parent, John Ninatti and Ebe (Ninatti) Bernardon, stepfather, Joe Bernardon and brother, Norm Ninatti.

Lydia was devoted to her family and was always happiest when organizing events and dinners which would bring them together. She will be sadly missed and mourned by her sister and best friend, Josephine Bernardon, her brothers, Ed Ninatti and wife Barb, Aldo Ninatti and wife Irene and sister-in-law, Agnes Ninatti. Her cousins Ernie Scarbossa and Nettie Konschak (Dick) will also miss her as will her many friends.

Lydia was a loving and devoted aunt to her nieces, Laurie Hancox (Bill), Janice Ninatti-Lakic (Zvejzdan), Tracey Blaase (John) and to her nephew Norm Ninatti (Laura). She delighted in her role as great-aunt to Nicholas and Scott (Hancox), Caitlyn, Andrew, Anthony (Ninatti), and Sabrina (Blaase). To all of them she will forever be their much loved and irreplaceable “Aunty Lyddie”.

There will be no service by request. A tea for family and friends to remember Lydia will be held on Saturday, Feb 24th, 1-4pm at the Royston Community Hall.

For friends wishing to do so, donations in Lydia’s memory to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation or the Comox Valley S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Yates Funeral Service - Crematorium.
