LYDIA DOLMAN
1908 – 2006
Lydia was born on July 2, 1908 in East Ham, London, England and passed away peacefully at Glacier View Lodge on August 9th, 2006. Lydia is the beloved mother of Betty Gilchrist and was predeceased by her husband Bert and son-in-law Bill. She is survived by her 3 grandchildren; Linda Blore, Janice Houdayer (Barry), Bill Gilchrist (Lori), 7 great-grandchildren; Janine and Ryan Blore, Daniel, Sarah and Rachel Houdayer, Will and Ian Gilchrist, sister: Iris Starling (Harry) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many good friends, especially Clare and Tom Simpson, Val and Orv Coulter, George Glover and Flo and Bob Coulter. Lydia loved her carpet bowling at d’Esterre Senior Center, where she was a founding member, and her bingo with her friends at the Legion and the Lion’s club. She had a real zest for life and loved to sing and tell jokes. All of us will miss her dearly.
Many, many thanks to all the staff at Glacier View Lodge for all their loving care. There will be no service by request. Donations made in Lydia’s memory to Glacier View Lodge or any charity of your choice would be appreciated. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s Funeral Home.
