Lyla passed away peacefully in her home in Comox on Thursday, June 28, 2016 after a long happy life at the age of 93. She was born in Eddyside, SK to loving parents, Myrtle ?and Walter Paul. In 1940, Lyla fell in love with the handsome private, Emrys Gardiner, and was married in Langruth, MB. Together they loved to fish and camp with their many children. Lyla is survived by the families of her 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and siblings. Lyla was a beautiful, fun loving mother, grandmother and friend and we will miss you always. A private family gathering will be held at Courtenay Civic Cemetery. A celebration of Lyla’s life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 for friends and family at the home of Sylvia and Jan van der Vliet at 4 p.m. For more information call 250-339-2126.
