July 3, 1954 - October 24, 2020
Lyle passed away on October 24th at North Island hospital, Courtenay.
Born in Nanaimo, B.C. on July 3rd, 1954, Lyle touched the hearts of so many people that he met. His kindness and generosity were recognized by all that met him. After 21 years working with the Royal Bank, Lyle returned to the island and moved to the Comox Valley where he was manager at the Credit Union before purchasing The Wine Cottage. He dedicated the next 24 years of his life connecting with people in the community and prioritizing service and quality.
Lyle loved to walk with his dog and family on the beaches at Kye Bay and Goose Spit as well as explore the trails around his home. He was a star in Dancing with the Stars Comox Valley, a wonderful Dad and husband, and recent grandpa.
His love of travel saw him soaking up new knowledge about different cultures and languages, visiting his son in different parts of the world, enjoying different foods and wines, and building up his repertoire of stories to share.
In the last ten months, he has been so excited to be a new grandpa and has been enthralled to connect with his grandson virtually, laugh at daily photos and videos, and thankfully get to hold him in his arms before international travel was arrested. His joy and exuberance for life will be greatly missed.
Predeceased by sister, Eileen Brodie; father, Clark Brodie; and mother, Francis Brodie. Survived by: wife Pamela, son Christopher, daughter-in-law Emily, grandson Cedar, and sister Marilyn.
Due to Covid, the family will be holding a small, private celebration of life in the coming weeks. A larger celebration may be considered in the future.
Donations to the Cancer society or Parkinson's Society would be appreciated.
