Lyn, a resident of Comox Valley for the past 13 years, died peacefully at Glacier View Lodge with family by her side.
Lyn was born and grew up in Nebraska, USA. She graduated from Kearney State Teachers College in 1943, married, then moved to Idaho in 1946.
During this period of her life, she was the supportive wife of a farmer and raised her two children. She was an excellent homemaker, cook, seamstress, and active community member. She also enjoyed creative activities such as crafts and painting.
After working 20 years at a second career in drug and alcohol counselling, she became a permanent resident of Canada in 1992, moving to live closer to some of her family. Throughout her life, she was a warm and generous person; she had a positive attitude, looked on the bright side, and found joy in small things.
Lyn is survived by her daughter Terry (Peter), her son David (Lorna), her grandchildren Aaron (Angela) and Amy (James) and her great granddaughters Isabella and Olivia.
Lyn's family is profoundly grateful to all the staff at Glacier View Lodge and to Dr. Sue Hunter for 3 years of warm, thoughtful and dedicated care.
