Mabel Lenore
1919 – 2009
Mabel passed away at Eagle Park Health Care Facility in Qualicum Beach, BC on August 31, 2009 at the age of 90. She was born on January 16, 1919 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.
She married Percy Carter in 1943. They moved their family to British Columbia in 1972 but enjoyed traveling back to Manitoba almost every summer. They had 4 children: Louise (Dave), Ray, Marlene (Wayne) and Cheryl (Terry), 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mabel loved gardening and crocheting, but her children and their families were most important to her.
She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, her husband Percy in 1998 and shortly after by her grandson Ian.
Mabel will be laid to rest with her husband in Courtenay Civic Cemetery. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday September 14, 2009 at 1:00pm.
Flowers are gratefully declined but a donation in Mabel’s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
