Williams, Mabel Elizabeth
1909 - 2005
Mabel was born May 22, 1909 in Carstairs, Alberta and passed into the presence of the Lord on July 31, 2005 at Arranglen Gardens in Qualicum Beach.
Mom was so thankful for the kindness shown to her by all the staff. She was predeceased by her husband Evan in 1977; her parents Ezra and Magdalena Shantz; brothers: Elmer (Verna) Shantz, Herbert (Ellanora) Shantz, Pharez (called Willy) Shantz, and Claude (Laura) Shantz; sister: Ruby Shantz; son-in-law: Bob McKie in 1989. Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Gwyneth McKie; sons: Moelwyn (Gail) Williams, Ronald Williams; grandchildren and their families: Barbara, Steven, Brennan and Alyssa McArthur, Steven and Melinda McKie, Kelly, David, Jordan and Cassidy Crisp, Rodney, Carrie, Braydon, and Rhianne Williams, Scott Williams; sisters-in-law: Nan Clarkson and Mary Williams; as well as by several nieces and nephews in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Donations can be made as an expression of sympathy to the Gideon’s Bible Society or to the charity of your choice. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Piercy’s/Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Ave. with Mr. Lawrence Burns officiating. Following a time of refreshments and fellowship in Piercy’s Glacier Tea Room, Mabel will be laid to rest next to her husband Evan in Courtenay Civic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s / Mt. Washington Funeral Home.
