COCHRANE, Maisie Alice (Roberts)
July 16, 1921 – March 29, 2011
Maisie passed away at ECU, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, BC. Granny has put down her fishing rod, knitting needles and quilting thread to go and join the others that have gone on before her.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Roberts, her husband George Cochrane (1993), brothers; William (Helen) Roberts, Harry (Belle) Roberts, sister-in-laws; Carrie Roberts, Cathy Roberts, in-laws; Gladys Cochrane, Olive MacPhee, Alex (Bessie) Cochrane and Gordon Cochrane.
Maisie leaves behind many to celebrate her memory, brothers; Charlie Roberts (QC), Leslie (Cathy) Roberts (Nanaimo), Ernie (Yvonne) Cochrane (Toronto), Lucille Cochrane (Chilliwack), friend and quilting partner Willa Eden and daughter Dorothy Anderson (Campbell River), her family that will now have to wear store bought sweaters or learn to knit, daughter Georgina (John) Stokes, (Merville), grandsons; John Stokes (Ft St John), Ron (Filomena) Stokes (Prince George), Fred (Kim) Stokes (Ft St John), great-grandchildren; Andrew, Kayla (Ft St John), Izabella, Nathan, (Prince George), Joseph, Jacob, Kaleb (Courtenay), Kaitlynn, Chloe (Ft St John), great-great-granddaughter Jaylynn (Ft St John), daughter Linda (Dave) Henuset (Campbell River) and son Steven Cochrane (Campbell River). Maisie is also survived by many nieces and nephews across Canada and in Arizona.
Her ashes will be taken back to the family farm in Rawdon, Quebec and at a later date we may celebrate with a tea. Thank you to Dr Reggler, Dr Blacklock and all the staff at Eagleview for the care given to mom (granny) over the years that she was in ECU.
