Born Queen Charlotte City 26 Aug. 1928, passed away peacefully at Glacier View Lodge 9 July 2007. Predeceased by husband Lennart 1986. Lovingly missed by children Karen (Jackson), Carl Ernst, Leonard (Karyn), Alan (Dawn); brothers Jim (Joyce) and John (Evelyn) Muckle; grandchildren Michelle, Troy, Joanne, Kris, Alexander, Damien, and Samantha; nieces and nephews Susan, Jeff, Lloyd, Janice, Neil, Jerry, John, and Joanne.

Margaret was a long time member of C.W.L. holding all the different offices. Was a founding member and treasurer of the Courtenay Recovery Centre. Very active member of the Courtenay 2nd Boy Scout and Girl Guide organization also many years as their treasurer, also spent a lot of time working on the Canadian Martyrs Heritage Committee.

Margaret graduated Courtenay High School with further education in Victoria and worked several years there in various government offices. Returning to Courtenay in 1955 to become bookkeeper for Laver’s Department Stores. Marriage in late 1956 and after various moves around B.C. returned to Courtenay in 1966. From 1974 till her retirement she was the bookkeeper and a director for Frazer Moving (1965) Ltd., and half owner of Muckle’s Transfer Ltd. Along with full-time work Margaret also managed the raising of her four children almost totally on her own.

Special thanks to the staff of Glacier View Lodge for the wonderful and gracious care she received while in residence there. Also many thanks to her many friends who visited faithfully.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Christ the King Church Wednesday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. Following will be a reception and celebration of Margaret’s life in the church hall.
