In loving memory ~
Predeceased by her husband Sterling. Survived by daughters Bonnie Jean, (Gerald) and Sherry, son Terence, granddaughters Brenna and Bridget and great-grandson Seamus.
Margaret came to the Valley in 1976 when her husband (RCAF) was stationed here as his last posting. She has resided here since. She taught Highland Dancing in Comox and Cold Lake, Alberta. She was a life member of the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance. She was a long-time member of the Co-Val Choristers, Comox United Church Choir and sang summers with CYMC. Margaret was also a member of the Celtic Club, Comox Legion, and NAFR. She sang at various functions in the Comox Valley. Margaret made prize-winning dolls, some of which are in various parts of Canada, USA, Scotland and Australia.
She was recognized by former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney in 1988 for her community involvement. Proud of her Scottish Heritage she had a long and interesting life. No service by request.
Margaret's family will be gathering at a later date to celebrate her life, and to be grateful for having had her in their lives. The family passes on their appreciation to the Comox Valley Hospital 3rd floor Care Team for their compassion and great care during her short stay.
Special thanks to her physician, Dr. Neufeld, who demonstrated strong support throughout, and was often present to answer Margaret's questions and to provide comfort.
You are an amazing, accomplished and talented little lady Mum and we shall Miss and Love you Always! Love, Bonnie Jean, Terence and Gerald
She was very much loved by her family and we will all miss our "super Gran". Love, Sherry
As a grandmother, Gran was present, involved, and loving. She cared for her twin granddaughters deeply and always had a way of making them feel seen and special. Whether it was trips to the Comox Mall, shows at the Sid Williams, walks at the Filberg Lodge, or afternoons in her living room, Gran was always there - full of spirit, 'up' on the latest world events, and there to listen. Her great-grandson Seamus was the apple of her eye, and her visit with him in 2019 was magical. You were the best Gran, now and always. Love, Bridget and Seamus.
How many people are lucky enough to have a Gran for 41 whole years? I have so many happy memories and will always be grateful for our closeness. Love, Brenna and Clayton.
