Margaret Louise Gansner (nee Turnbull), born in Vancouver, BC December 1925, passed away peacefully at the Comox Valley Seniors Village with her family by her side. Predeceased by her loving husband John in 2016, she is survived by her three sons Jim (Myra), John (Linda), and Mike (Valerie); grandchildren John, Paula, James, Nina, Brenden, and Ryan; and great grandchildren Becky, Joshua, Sarah and Hannah.

After she and John married in 1949, Margaret obtained a Masters degree in Education and subsequently worked as a teacher in Oregon while John attended Pacific University. The family returned to BC in 1961 and settled in the Comox Valley, where she and John enjoyed raising their children. Margaret worked for a time as a substitute teacher in the valley, and was very active in the community. She loved to paint and spend time with her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.

The family wishes to thank the entire team at Comox Valley Seniors Village for the care they provided during Margaret's time at the facility. Special thanks to Dr. Doug Anderson, who was forever attentive to Margaret's needs for so many years.

Margaret kept a copy of Christina Rossetti's poem: "Miss Me, But Let Me Go" in her Bible, and asked that it be included in her obituary.

MISS ME, BUT LET ME GO

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom filled room

Why cry for a soul set free

Miss me a little - but not for long

And not with your head bowed low

Remember the love that we once shared

Miss me, but let me go

For this is a journey we all must take

And each must go alone

It's all part of the Master's plan

A step on the road to home

When we are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds

Miss me, but let me Go

There will be a celebration of Margaret's life at a later date.
