Margaret Heberlein

1930 – 2009

Margaret Heberlein (nee Ahrens) passed away suddenly on November 8, 2009 at her home in Black Creek, BC at the age of 79 years.

Margaret was born in Walsrode, Germany on June 30, 1930. She attended school there and later she trained and worked as a photo lab technician. At seventeen she met her future husband, Gunter, whom she married when she was 21 in her hometown of Walsrode. They were married for 58 years. Margaret and her husband had one daughter, Tamara. In 1965, they all moved to Alberta, Canada. In 1990, they again moved and made Vancouver Island their home. In the mid-1970’s, Margaret survived a bout with cancer where she recovered and lived an active life. At home she enjoyed gardening and delighted in taking cruises with her husband. She also enjoyed visiting Germany.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents: Willy and Frieda Ahrens.

She is survived by her husband, Gunter of Black Creek; daughter, Tamara (Robert) Heck; grandson, James Heck; granddaughter, Nina (Matt) Sukow all of Edmonton, Alberta.
