It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret (Peggie) Gagne on Tuesday 27th, September, 2005 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, B.C..

Born in Glace Bay, NS, Peggie attended Holy Cross school and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. In her teens she moved to New Waterford with her parents and family. She worked in New Waterford then in Sydney, where she met and married her husband Cpl. Gord Gagne. They married in 1974, were stationed in Sydney, NS; Alsask, SK & Comox, BC. Peggie was an executive member of the Order of the Royal Purple helping to raise funds for many charities. She loved crafts, cooking, bowling and decorating. She was a prize winner for her many beautiful Christmas displays. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Courtenay.

Peggie leaves her greatest love and best friend, her husband Gord, their son Jason Gagne, his wife Lyndsay, and grandaughter Payge, Calgary, AB, also her sisters Marlene, (Don Waechter), Port Hawkesbury, Patricia (James MacNeil), New Victoria, brothers Jim MacLellan (Elsie) Glace Bay, Fred MacLellan (Patricia) New Waterford, sister-in-law Hughena MacLellan, New Waterford, brother-in-law Raymond Cameron, Albert Bridge, mother-in-law Margaret Gagne, Campbell River, Med Gagne, Port Hardy, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and father-in-law, Peggie was predeceased by her brother, Danny MacLellan and sister, Kathleen (Kay) MacLellan Cameron, two brothers and a sister in infancy. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, at the present time. Any donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Bowler and the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, BC.
