Margaret Jean Palmeter (nee Trueman)

December 16, 1925 - August 24, 2019
Born December 16, 1925 in La Have, Nova Scotia, died August 24, 2019 in Victoria, British Columbia. Margaret's feisty nature, sense of humour and keen intellect were with her throughout her rich and varied 93 years of life. Margaret had a deep and abiding love of family - her husband Don who died in 2003, son John (Betsy), daughters Joy and Kathy (Rod) and her beloved granddaughters Danielle (Ryan), Ashley (Damien) and Robin (Malcom). She expressed astonishment and delight that she lived long enough to welcome eight precious great-grandchildren. And her beloved nephews in Nova Scotia, Hazen and William Trueman
Margaret will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a gifted teacher, mentor, friend and strong, strong supporter of her community. At her request, an outline of all that she was invlolved in will not be given. As she said, "Those that have known me and shared parts of my life journey will know what I've been involved in and what have been my family and community commitments. Who and what I will have been will have been completed and held in memories. There is no re-writing of ones life's script." She valued her time spent with family, friends and colleagues. Those relationships were what mattered most and provided ongoing memories to the end.

A Celebration of Margaret's Life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 2 pm. Cordova Bay United Church, 813 Claremont Ave, Victoria, B.C.
