WOODASON Margaret Jean

(Née Waddington)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maggie, beloved and devoted wife of Brian (married 55 years), mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Maggie’s life journey began in Buckinghamshire, England on April 20, 1934, and ended peacefully in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, B.C on July 30, 2012 with family at her side. Maggie and Brian moved to Canada in 1957, where they were married. A family soon followed, Paul (Sue), Carol (Adrian), Keith, Ian and Heidi (Ray).

Maggie leaves a legacy of 5 children, 10 grandchildren Karl (Amanda), Giles (Laura-Lee), Gemma (Travis), Kayla (Steve), Stephanie (Ryan), Nicola, Brian, Sarah, Kevin & Cameron, and 4 1/2 great-grandchildren, Liam, Hailey, Cole, Gracie & #5 arriving in 2013.

Maggie and Brian’s sense of adventure took them to many locations from Winnipeg to Edmonton, Whitehorse, Comox, Victoria and Hereford, England. Finally settling in Courtenay in 1981. Maggie loved travelling; she visited many countries (and casinos). She also loved gardening, birds, cooking and of course her hats. But the love of Maggie’s life was Brian and her family.

Maggie’s love of life and positive attitude had a huge impact on everyone she met and will be sadly missed by everybody. Her courage and dignity were evident to the end.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday August 4, 2012 at the Comox Valley Funeral Home, on Ryan Road, with a gathering after at Maggie and Brian’s home.

In lieu of flowers, we request a donation to either the Vancouver Children’s Hospital or the Cancer Society.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
