Margaret passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice in Kamloops on Thursday July 28th just as the sun was raising.

Margaret (Mom) is preceded by her parents, (Malcolm and Florence) one sister (Edith) and three of her seven children, (Wayne, Debbie, and Brian).

Margaret is survived by her youngest sister Lyla McKaeg, brother George F. Walker, her eldest son Roy Keizer, daughter Beverly (Danny) Leighton, daughter Sharon (David) Woodley, and daughter Diane (Ernie) Stasiuk.

Mom (Nanna) will be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren Christopher Leighton, Jenny Stevens, Sara Jane Leighton, Matthew Jesse, Joseph Jesse, Shawn Neve and Shannon Neve.

Mom also referred to as “Big Nanna” will be sorely missed by her seven great grandchildren, Brooke, Emma, Robbie, Benjamin, Connor, Hunter and Nikita.

Mom’s life was not an easy life as those that knew her knew. But one thing that was certain, Mom lived her life for her family. Her family was truly her heart and soul. She loved us all unconditionally. Her happy time was always family time.

She worked so hard as a single mother of six children, working her way through School District #71 in the Comox Valley. Eventually retiring from SD#71 from her position as secretary to the Superintendent’s Office in August 1989.

Her family especially three daughters Bev, Sharon and Diane want to thank the nursing staff at Royal Inland Hospital on the fourth floor. Huge gratitude and thanks to Dr. Howie for his caring and compassion for his patient “Miss Margaret” as he called mom.

We also want to acknowledge the wonderful staff of the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice who provided the most loving, caring and protective care for both mom and our family. Words are simply

not enough to be said for the care they provided for mom. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

At mom’s request the family will be holding a private celebration of mom’s life at a later date in Long Beach.

In Lieu of flowers a donation in our mothers name can be made to the Marjorie Snowden Hospice in Kamloops BC
