In the company of family members, Margaret passed away on September 17th, 2018 at The Views at St. Joseph's in Comox BC.

Born and raised in St. John's Newfoundland, "the Goof from Newf " also lived in Quebec, Ontario, and finally BC. A stalwart Girl Guide and Guider for 84 of her 95 years, Mom was active in the Trefoil Guild until just months before her death. Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Elmer, in 2011, she is survived and missed by her children Randy (Diane), Evan (Linda), Heather (Gordon), Melanie (Rob), and Glynis (David) as well as several grandchildren and a couple of great grandchildren.

At Margaret's request, there was no service and this tribute is brief. However, her family will gather when the trilliums bloom and walk with her on Elmer's final walk. In the meantime, she asks that her friends enjoy a cup of tea and reminisce fondly, following the advice from a poem she specifically requested be included in her obituary:

Miss Me - But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little-but not too long

And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, Miss me- but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must make, and each must go alone.

It's all a part of the Master's plan,

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me- but let me go.

Margaret's family would like to thank those who showed her kindness and compassion, especially during her last year.

Alright then, as Mom would say, "Carry on dauntlessly..."
