Margaret passed away suddenly in her Comox home on May 4, 2019 at age 76. Margaret was born in England but lived the majority of her life in Canada.
She lived many years in Edmonton, AB where she met her beloved husband Blake, while working as a secretary in an architectural firm. Married in 1973, they celebrated their 39th anniversary before Blake passed away in 2013. Once Blake retired from his position at the University of Alberta, they moved to an acreage just outside of Comox where they lived until their respective deaths.
Margaret formed lifelong friends during her days at the Alberta Legislature in the MLA office and through her enduring love affair for horses. She was a serious collector of horse memorabilia, books, jewelry, antiques and art.
Margaret is survived by her stepchildren Miles (Donna) Pratt, Brenda (Jim) Cote and her beloved cousins in England. She was predeceased by her parents Marjorie and William (Bill) Jefferson. Heartfelt thanks to Blanch and Jack Campbell, Shannon and Mike Farrell and Barb and Mike Campbell, amazing neighbours and friends, who provided so much care and support in Marg's later years.
Many thanks as well to Anne Sinclair, Valerie Ashworth and Elaine Rose for their friendship and support of Marg. And to Linda Kerr and Ilona Singer at Country Lane Stables who also supported Marg and continue to care for her horse Cody in his senior years. Interment will take place at the Courtenay Civic Cemetery at a later date.
