Margaret passed away suddenly at home at the age of 91.

Margaret was born to the late Henry and Lily Blackmore in Wales and emigrated to Canada in 1951 with her husband Duro (George) Vranjes and her mother Lily. She leaves behind her son (David) and daughters (Anica and Margaret) as well as 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son (Peter) and husband (Duro) and sister (Lillian).

Margaret resided in the Comox Valley for the next 70 years. She devoted many of her career years in Canada to working with children and adults with disabilities. Margaret also worked as an orthopedic nurse in Wales prior to emigrating to Canada.

Margaret was a highly intelligent and independent woman who demonstrated much courage and resilience throughout her life. She loved to learn, and she encouraged her children to love learning also. She was advanced three different times during her own schooling.

Margaret was an accomplished person with many talents. She was a highly skilled and creative crafts person. In Wales, she was chosen to spin the silk used in Queen Elizabeth's coronation dress.

Margaret expressed her love in many ways but especially through her cooking skills, which included amazing bread, pies, and soups. She had a passion for gardening. Margaret also loved to read and especially loved reading mystery novels. She also took an avid interest in politics and the world in which she lived.

Margaret always maintained her good sense of humor and she was always immensely proud of her Welsh heritage. More than any aspect of her life, Margaret's life centered on family life.

There will be no service, but her ashes will be spread at a later date by her remaining children in a location that was special to both Margaret and her family
