IN LOVING MEMORY

Margaret Wedel

1927 – 2010

Our dearly beloved wife, mom, and grandma passed away peacefully at five minutes before midnight on May 4, 2010. She was born on January 24, 1927 to John and Helen Goerz in Davidson, Saskatchewan. She was the seventh of nine siblings. The family moved to Black Creek when she was 15 where her father was the pastor of the Black Creek Mennonite Brethren Church. There she met the love of her life, Albert Wedel, and they were married on August 24, 1956. Together, they had four children: Randy, Debbie, Terry, and Chris, and raised their family in Black Creek. As the years passed, she was blessed with five grandchildren: Yasmeen and Reuben from Randy and Seema; and Nathan, Daniel, and Rebecca from Chris and Debra.

What Margaret enjoyed most in life was making a lovely home for her husband and family. She was devoted, loving, and conscientious in cheerfully meeting their needs exuding love in all that she did. In her life Margaret made continuing contributions to the church with her singing, teaching, and blanket making for charity. Throughout her life she was known for her talent in needlework and quilting which she generously contributed to needy people all over the world.

Severely ill, Margaret was admitted to St. Joseph’s hospital for her last two weeks. A special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital for the exceptional care given to her. She was predeceased by her nine year old daughter, Debbie, and her 22 year old grandson Reuben. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her loving husband and family for her quiet, kind, gentle, peaceful spirit and her cheerful personality. She gave all she had to all she knew. She is now with God whom she loved deeply and served faithfully.
