June 16th, 1930 - October 14th, 2016

It born in Weyburn SK, raised in Vancouver, our precious wife and mother passed away in St. Joseph’s ER from sudden heart failure with her husband of 63 years, Russ, at her side.

Marg was a wonderful person, kind, loving, with a vibrant personality who made friends wherever she went. She had the best traits of her Irish and Danish heritage.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Russ, loving daughter Linda (Cheryl) and many many friends. She was predeceased by our daughter Karen just five months ago and by four new born sons in earlier years.

She served in the RCAF, Women’s Division, enlisting in 1951 and was proud to be on Course # 1. She met and married Russ at Sea Island, the best thing that ever happened to him! During their time together they traveled across Canada, to Europe, the UK, and spent many winters in California and Arizona plus took a significant number of cruises. She was always athletic, a fine ballplayer and a steady and fun golfer at Glacier Greens for many years.

She was a stay at home mom when the girls were young but later worked at the Empress, Royal Jubilee, and many years at the Lab at St. Joseph’s. Family was her priority and she gave us her love without any hesitation. She was my “social butterfly” and we will forever be “ dancing cheek to cheek”.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Peter Gee for his kind and compassionate care over the past few years, and to Dr. Dave Musgrave for his earlier care. Cremation has taken place with Piercys in Courtenay. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity would be appreciated.

A celebration of Marg’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 1st, at 2 o’clock at the 888 Wing in Comox.
