March 7, 1931 - April 4, 2022
Marguerite Winnifred Queen was a resident of the Comox Valley until she passed away recently on April the fourth after a long bout of heart disease, she was born on March the seventh of 1931 in Pembroke, Ontario in a family of seven, and she was the youngest.
She is predeceased by her husband, Cecil Queen, who also lived in the Comox Valley for many years. They were married for 60 years.
Marguerite Queen is survived by her eldest daughter, Marguerite Anne Queen, her son Ronald Harold Queen and her granddaughter Shannon Marie Queen.
Marg served in the air force for a short time, left to marry Cecil and worked in North Vancouver as a nurse. Marguerite was also a nurse in Cumberland and the St. Joseph Hospital for a total of 35 years.
She was also quite active in her church for many years, and she will be remembered there quite fondly. Marguerite was also a member of the lawn bowling club and the Evergreen club and was an active participant in all their activities.
According to her wishes, there'll be no service, no flowers, donations can be made to any one of her projects. She's a big believer in donating money to whales, elephants, and the SPCA or if so inclined, you can just donate money to your church in her name which will be greatly appreciative.
