April 10, 1935 - November 17, 2021
Maria Lourdes De Oliveira, a resident of Comox, died peacefully at the Views St Joseph's on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, comforted by her loving son, her 30 years of friendship Fatima, and the extraordinary loving people of The Views St Joseph's.
Maria Lourdes is survived by her son Ray DaSilva, Daughter-in-law Angela, and three grandchildren, Christopher, William, and Victor.
Maria Lourdes was born on April 10, 1935, in Rio Real, Brazil. Before completing 18 years old this strong woman left her small town of Bahia to move to the big city of São Paulo, 2000 Km away. Not what one would be expected from a young woman in the 50s. She was ahead of her time. She worked as a radio assembler in the 60s, then built lunch boxes to be serviced inside the planes and even the liaison of the Vice President of Varig Brazilian Airlines. She was a businesswoman, a worker, a wife, a mentor to many, and a dedicated mother who would sacrifice anything for her son.
She was loved by many people, she touched many lives and she will be remembered for her smile and strong personality.
We loved her so much and she will be in our memories forever.
