With heavy hearts we announce the passing of a vibrant woman, Marie Hopland on Dec. 30, 2020 at Victoria General Hospital.

Marie was a member of the Ocean Waves Square Dancing and Island Gems Round Dancing. She worked at Jean Burns Clothing in Nanaimo and loved it! Also, she worked as a cashier for Save-on-Foods for many years until she retired.
Marie had many hobbies, she was an avid square dancer, camper, golfer, traveller, fishing enthusiast and loved to crochet. She lived her life to the fullest. Her large family and many hobbies always kept her busy. Her love of travel took her to many places, China, South Pacific Cruising Hawaii, and United States for square dancing. Family was especially important to her, along with her cherry squares!
She will be sadly missed at all family functions. Dear to our hearts, she will never be forgotten.
Flowers gratefully declined, kindly consider donations in her memory to the Kidney Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Due to the covid-19 restrictions, there will be no funeral service at this time.
Thank you to the staff at Comox Valley Hospital and Victoria General for mom's excellent care.
