It is with great sadness we announce the passing of an amazing lady Johanne Moreau who has bravely fought cancer for 3 years. Johanne was born in Greenwood, Nova Scotia, and moved to the Comox Valley in 1978 with her family. Her life career was working at the local St. Joseph’s Hospital as a Laboratory Technologist.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Ernie Sellentin and daughter Olivia. Step children Reid (Jeana) and 2 children. Serena (Jordan) and 3 children. Also grieving her loss is her mother Cathy Moreau of Courtenay, brother Allan (Tricia) of Trail, BC and 3 children. Brother Marc (Carla) of Calgary, AB. Sister Denise and 3 children of Courtenay, BC. She was predeceased by her father Jean-Guy Moreau in 2018.
She was a vibrant individual who gave her heart and soul into everything in which she was involved. Many joys in life included alpine skiing, curling, gardening, reading, dancing, listening to music and walking her dog Ollie. Her furry companion Ollie will also miss her caring and companionship. She took pride in helping at the schools, sporting events, music festivals and other community events. Johanne paddled with the Hope A Float Dragon boat team for 2 years and really enjoyed their comfort, support and camaraderie in all their events. She will also be missed by the many friends and co-workers in the valley and across the country.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the many visitors she had while she stayed in Comox Valley Hospital. Also the countless doctors, nurses and support staff that made this difficult time more bearable. Especially Hospice support as well as Dr. Feng at the Cancer Clinic in Victoria. Please make donations at Cancer Research or Comox Valley Hospice Society.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, February 21st, 2020 at 1 pm at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation & Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, BC.
