Marilyn was born at the Campbell River hospital and grew up on Cortez Island, she moved to the big city of Courtenay, B.C with her family when she was 15 years old. She married Thomas Marsden in 1955 they moved to Comox in 1967 where they raised their daughter.
Marilyn was a parent volunteer at Comox Elementary, she was a lifetime member of the MS Society of BC. Marilyn was involved with Chronic pain Society and had a voice through accessibility for all in the Comox Valley, Marilyn was a listening ear to all who called, encouraging, a support person and an advocate. She was involved with fund raising too.
She loved to sing, and to swim and she also loved smiles and hugs, along with dinner parties with family and friends. She held onto traditions like Empire Days in Cumberland, Easter, Canada Day, Christmas, Birthdays, pancake Tuesday.
She leaves writings and poems which will continue to encourage, uplift her grandchildren as they're preparing their own paths in life. Tom and Marilyn lived both in Courtenay and Gold River 1986-1991 until Dad retired.
In 2013 they moved to Ladysmith to be closer to the grandchildren and then moved to the Chemainus Health Care Centre in 2016.
We would like to thank Doctor Archdekin and the Chemainus Health Care Staff for their support and care.
