Mum passed away peacefully at home with her beloved husband Norman at her side. Mum and Dad celebrated 67 wonderful years of married life in July of 2009. Mum is survived by her 4 adoring children, daughters Joan (Walt Johnsen), and Scampi (Larry Hirst) and sons Norm (Kathy) and Steve (Sandy). Grandchildren Sean (Kim), Luke (Normandie) Josh, Drew, Kaeleigh (Dino) and Paul (Karen). Mum was born and brought up in Marysville, New Brunswick. As a young girl she attended Syracuse University and Macdonald College studying commercial art and home economics. On July 7, 1942 she married her handsome man in uniform, Norman Frank Rettie. Mum was a wonderful mother, a great homemaker, an excellent cook and an accomplished artist and crafts person with a love of knitting, needlework, painting, pastels and weaving, which she shared with a long list of friends and acquaintances. Mum had a wonderfully full life from her birthplace in N.B. to homes in St. Stephen, N.B., Beaconsfield, Que., North Vancouver and lastly in Fanny Bay, B.C. where she could enjoy her love of country living and being in a boat with a fishing rod in hand.

She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family and many many friends from coast to coast.
