Marion Elise
September 12, 1942 - July 18, 2006
Marion came to Canada in 1952 at the age of 10. She loved and took pride in her family. Marion was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. Marion loved fishing, camping, picking mushrooms and hiking.
Marion is predeceased by her mother Erica VanNus. She is survived by her loving husband Raymond, son Shawn and daughter Leah (Jeff), her father Dirk VanNus Sr., brothers: Dirk VanNus Jr. (Pat), Richard VanNus (Judy), sister Patty, as well as grandchildren: Justin and Laurel Legros, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marion passed away peacefully with her family by her side. A special thank you to Dr. Weir, Dr. Bowler, the nurses in Cumberland Renal Unit and Victoria Renal Unit, the nurses in St. Joseph’s Emergency, and Gordon Carter. Many thanks also to Cathy Hawkins, Kim Benisky and Mo Derby for being there and keeping us strong. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 22 at 1:00pm at Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Kidney Foundation in Marion’s name would be appreciated.
