Marion Mantel
1945 - 2008
Marion Eveline Mantel, 62, of Fanny Bay BC, with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at her home on May 24, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Vancouver BC on June 16, 1945, she was the daughter of Wilfert and Jessie (Jaques) Hill. Her husband of 44 years Gerhard had stayed with her and helped, loved and supported Marion throughout her illness. She will be remembered by family and friends as a warm, loving and caring person. Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Marion will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Gerhard; her son Michael (Heather) of Victoria BC; daughter Tammy (Chris) Pirie of Tilley NB; grandsons Gabriel and Tyberius Pirie; brothers Clifford (Janice) Hill of Calgary AB, David (Janice) Hill of Nanaimo BC; brother-in-law Fred (Colleen) Mantel of Chilliwack BC; 6 nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her Parents Wilfert and Jessie Hill. In accordance to Marion’s wishes, no funeral services shall be held. A “Celebration of Life” occurred on May 25th, 2008 at her home attended by her immediate family and friends. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Marion to the BC Cancer agency.
