January 26, 1910 – September 25, 2006
Mary Ann Jones passed away peacefully on September 25, 2006 at the age of 96 with her family at her side.
Mary lived a full and busy life. She came to the Valley in 1927 from Blackburn, Scotland with her family and met and married David Jones in 1932. Mary and David enjoyed a busy life of farming where they raised their 3 children and had an active hand in raising their 6 grandchildren. In later years Mary was very active in The Fraternal Order of Eagles where she was president for sometime. She was also very active in the Evergreen Seniors Club and enjoyed carpet and lawn bowling.
Mary was predeceased by her parents Ellen and Henry McCabe, husband David, brothers John, Henry, George and Felix, sister Alice Leakey and son David and daughter Gwyneth Epp.
Left to mourn Mary’s passing are her son John (Jody) Jones, daughter-in-law Betty-Lou Jones, son-in-law Arnold Epp, grandchildren Lorne Epp, Tracy Malton, Cheryl (Blair) Rogers, Corinne (David) Pisto, Graham (Patty) Jones, Bob (Jill) Jones. Also 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thanks to the nurses, staff and friends Mary met during her stay at St. Joseph’s E.C.U. Eagleview Unit which donations can be made to in Mary’s name.
There will be no service at Mary’s request. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Mary’s life at the home of Betty-Lou Jones, 5270 Headquarters Road, Saturday, September 30, 2006 from 1-5pm.
