Mary Faulkner passed away in Courtenay on February 6th, 2007. Mary, formerly of Prince Rupert, B.C., was predeceased by her parents John and Beatrice McIntyre of Vancouver, her loving husband Albert, her step-son Albert and by her grandson Ian.
She is survived by her son Michael (Helen) Faulkner of Grand Forks, B.C., her grandchildren Wendy, Jennifer and Mellissa, her sister Jean (Howard) McGowan of Seattle, Washington as well as her nieces and nephews. Mary was past matron of Eastern Star in Prince Rupert and a member of Florence Chapter, Courtenay from whom she received a 50 year pin. She was a member of Bay Community Church and was very proud of the fact that she worked 15 years on the Vancouver School Board. Mary enjoyed retirement in the Comox Valley, her friends and neighbours and the d’Esterre Seniors Group. Few people get to live 95 years, even fewer yet with such grace and dignity. At Mary’s request there will be no service. If your life in some way has been touched by Mary, we would ask that you honour her memory by passing on a random act of kindness.
