In loving memory ~

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Betty, who left us peacefully in the early morning hours of July 18, 2024, at the age of 85.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, sister, nana and great nana, whose guidance and support were constants in the lives of those she held dear. She took pride in seeing others succeed and was always there with wise advice and a steady hand.

Survived by her loving husband of 68 years Gordon, beloved son Gordon Jr. and Sally, predeceased by her daughter Lorrie. She leaves behind grandchildren Michael (Kayla), Kevin (Jodi), Rheann (Kyle) & Monica, as well as great grandchildren Veda & Gwen. Predeceased by her sister Dot, brothers Bob, Glyn & Dave, & survived by her brother Bill. Along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Betty was born in Princeton BC, raised in Blakeburn and eventually moved to Cumberland BC with her family where she met her husband, Gordon. They had a love for exploring the beauty close to home and abroad. Their travels took them across BC, down to California and occasionally to Hawaii. Some of her fondest travel memories were going over to Vancouver with family for their annual trip to the P.N.E, visiting her sister Dot & brother-in-law Dennis in the lower mainland & living part-time in California for 5 months out of the year.

Though her presence will be greatly missed, the lessons she imparted and the love she shared will continue to inspire and guide us. We find comfort in knowing that Betty's legacy of strength and love will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate to know her.

She suffered no fools. Her family takes solace knowing that she has been reunited with her daughter Lorrie and that they are finally at peace together.

A Celebration of Life to honour Betty will be held on Sunday August 25th, 2024, at Piercy's Funeral Home at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
