April 25, 1933 - March 4, 2025

In loving memory ~

With dignity and determination, Mary Elizabeth Goski passed away with her husband by her side on March 4, 2025, having lived every minute of every day to the fullest during her 91 years.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ed, children Maureen, Bob (Sachiko), Sam (Catherine), and Joan (Matt), grandchildren Faye (Curtis), Ben, Mackenzie (Josey), Connor (Brooklyn), Joel (Erika), Beau (Morgan), Kye, and Kaz, great grandchildren Julia, Emma, and Caden, her sister Pat MacIntyre, and extended family in Ontario and Saskatchewan.

Born in Alexandria Ontario to Dr. Dominic J Dolan and Georgina McAuley, Mary was the beloved youngest child in a large Irish Catholic family. After graduating from High School and Normal College Mary taught elementary school for a number of years in Toronto before moving to Saint-Hubert Quebec. It was there that she met Ed Goski, a young airman, which began a partnership that lasted 63 years. After a whirlwind romance they married in Alexandria in 1961, and this was quickly followed by four children and a busy life crisscrossing the country as a military spouse, eventually settling in Comox, BC, in 1985 where they enjoyed an active retirement.

Mary cherished her family and the lifelong friends that she and Ed made over their many adventures together. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, had a great love of music, playing the piano and singing in her earlier years, was an excellent cook and host, and an avid bridge player. Her sense of humour and carefree spirit was a joy to be around and unwavering to the end. To all those who knew her, we invite you to celebrate Mary's life by listening to a rendition of Schubert's Ave Maria and raising a glass of sherry or white wine (with ice) in her honour.

The family is grateful for the excellent care Mary received from Dr. Janet Green and the staff at Aitken Hospice. A private family gathering will be arranged in the future. Donations in Mary's honour can be made to the BC Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
