An exceptional life came to an end Wednesday evening when Maj died peacefully surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Maj, the founder of Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society (MARS), was born in Middletown Ohio to Margaret (Peg) and J. Richard (Dick) Grubbs. She will be sadly missed by her two sisters, Robin Oetgen and Nancy Tutt (Dan) of McCormick, S.C.; nephews Douglas Moore (Michelle) and R. Scott Moore and great-nephews Tyler, Isaac and Benjamin, and her many friends and colleagues.
A Celebration of Life for Maj will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 25th, 2015 in the Upper Hall of the Florence Filberg Centre, 411 Anderton, Courtenay. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to MARS, www.wingtips.org, to build a new wildlife centre.
