McConochie, Mary Jane
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 25th, 2008. Born in Amaranth, Manitoba on February 20th, 1923, she came to the Comox Valley in 1945 where she happily remained for the rest of her life. Mary dedicated her life to raising her children, helping with her grandchildren and her work within the Christian community. She was predeceased by her two sisters, three brothers and her son William. Lovingly remembered by her brother Arthur (Shirley) Piper of Calgary, three daughters, Barbara Arseneau of Nanaimo, Betty (Dave) Armour of Courtenay, Lynda (Mike) O'Connell of St. Mary's, Idaho, grandchildren, Bill, Bob, Jodi, Michele, Kimberly, Leann and Anna as well as 9 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Anderson and the staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for their loving care of Mary and her family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00am at Piercy's Funeral Home, Courtenay, BC with a tea to follow at Piercy's. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Gideons or a charity of your choice.
