1990-2020 ~ It is with great sadness and shattered hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Matthew, on Friday, December 4th at the age of 30.
Matt was a kind, funny, shy, talented, brave, and loving man who was most content at home with his parents and his cat Sid. Matt was a creative and talented cook, enjoyed music and gaming, an avid Chelsea supporter, had a quick-wit, and loved animals of all kinds.
Diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at a young age Matt weathered many ups and downs with the help of his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
We would like to thank Sheila at Percuro for the many years of friendship and compassion she gave Matt. In mid-November he was diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer.
Matthew is survived by his parents Mel and Nicole (Phillips) Morris, grandmother Barbara Phillips, aunts and uncles - Lisa Bergen, Simone and Doug Tottenham, and Andrea and Gary Cassulis; and cousins Danielle (Sean) O'Leary, Trevor Bergen, and Mike (Sarah) Tottenham.
Thank you to Dr. Dustin Falk, Dr. Zorn and Dr. Murphy, and the incredible staff at North Island Hospital Comox Valley who assisted Matt during this difficult time. You are indeed our heroes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
