Betz , Maureen

Sept 29, 1934 – Apr 3, 2006

Taken suddenly from us at the young age of 71. Maureen was born in England on September 29th, 1934, she immigrated to Canada in January of 1973 with two of her daughters. It was in Vancouver that she met and married Herbert Betz in 1976. She will be remembered as a kind and wonderful, loving mother and a true friend to all who knew her. She has gone to join her only son Stewart who predeceased her in 1976. She is survived by her husband Herbert Betz, her three daughters: Susan Lemire (Gaetan) of Comox, B.C., Jean Stanley (David) of Westbank, B.C. and Kay Warton of Campbell River, B.C., as well as her brothers Jack Lilley (Ulla) of Leicester, England, Keith Lilley of Sleaford, England and her sister Jean Boysen (Edward Roden) of Comox, B.C., her grandchildren: Clare, Adam, Michael, Alex, Brendan, Kayla and Derek, her great grandchildren: Kirsty, Kyrie, Ionia and Scarlett, and other nieces and nephews. Maureen was also predeceased by her brother Richard Lilley and parents Robert and Anne Lilley of Sleaford, England. Maureen had many interests but she loved nothing more than to spend time with her family, cooking and entertaining, relaxing with a jigsaw puzzle or reading a good book. She will be sadly missed, always loved, but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. & Yukon, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8.
