John A Melville

Nov 1, 1927- June 26, 2017

Born in Rossland B.C. to John Melville and Martha. He passed away peacefully at Glacier View Lodge at the ripe old age of 89 years.

He attended UBC and graduated BSW (60) B. COMM (1956). He was a proud member of the Seaforth Highlanders in Vancouver. His career took him to Nelson and Comox Valley where he spent 35 years as a social worker and District Supervisor. He loved working with people and took passion in his career throughout the years.

On his retirement he volunteered at the Crisis Center. ln retirement his passion for golf continued where he could be seen at Sunnydale golf course with his closest friends. His sense of humour was contagious and will be greatly missed by friends and family. He would be at a gathering and deadpan and bring the crowd to tears with laughter. He enjoyed relaxing on his back deck with a crossword puzzle and a cold beverage.

A special thank you to the staff at Glacier View Lodge who provided care for dad the past few years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years (oh My god), sons Scott, Bruce and granddaughter Brittney.

In lieu of flowers donation to Glacier View Lodge or your favorite charity will be appreciated.

Service at Courtenay Legion, Sunday July 16 at 2pm.
