WOOD, Melvin

Melvin Wood left us too soon on January 13th at the young age of 67. Mel spent 27 years as a devoted firefighter with the Delta Fire Dept. retiring in 1992. He enjoyed his retirement spending time at his cabin on the west coast, fishing, oyster hunting and sitting around the campfire with family and friends. In the winter he was a snowbird spending time in Yuma, Arizona hunting the flea markets, singing with close friends and visiting his favorite eatery Lutes Casino. He was a fantastic cook, an amazing grandpa and wood work was his passion. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and always put others first. He lived life to the fullest and often said how lucky he was to have had all his dreams fulfilled.

He will be greatly missed by the love of his life Norma, daughter Lisa (John) Nicole and Matt, son Ian (Meta) Tyler and Kohen his brother and best friend Doug (Gail) and his many beloved friends. A celebration of life open house will be held on Sat Feb 20th at the Fallen Alders Hall between 1 and 4 pm.

If tears could build a stairway,

And memories a lane,

I'd walk right up to heaven

And bring you home again.

We miss you PA!
