Michael passed away peacefully in St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver, B.C. on November 6th, 2006.
He was born in Montreal and grew up and was educated in the Comox Valley. He was predeceased by his mother Aline.
Michael will be lovingly remembered by his partner Fabyo and his stepson Eric, and also by his father Barrie Wilford, stepmother Flo Peel, his sisters: Danielle (Mark) Duncan, Nicole Wilford, and brother Glen (Monique) Wilford, as well as nephews and nieces: Kyle and Jenna, Kaylie and Sarah, and Keni and Alex.
Michael had many loyal and committed friends who visited, and supported him tirelessly in the last few weeks and days of his life.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, November 14th in Christ Church Cathedral and a Memorial “Love Luncheon” will be held sometime in February in the downtown Eastside at the First United Church at Gore and Hastings. This is an outreach program that Michael participated in on several occasions. His ashes will be scattered at a favourite place on Vancouver Island in the Spring of 2007.
