July 10, 1941 – October 29, 2020
Michael George Powsey, born in Southport, England, passed away peacefully at the Views Care Home in Comox on October 29th, 2020 at the age of 79.
Surrounded by family during his final days and hours, Michael knew that he was loved. Even though Michael kept his feelings close to himself for most of his life he had a chance during his final days to express love to all who were close to him.
In 1972, Michael brought his family to Canada. He worked hard providing a life for his family here. Michael was a builder and built several homes for his own family during their childhood and through his retirement years with Julia, his wife of 56 years.
Michael worked alongside his brother, Tony, for much of his life and their families have remained close through numerous moves and across many miles. They will continue this way for many years to come.
Michael had a passion for fishing the sea and along the shores of rivers and lakes. He taught his children to fish the banks of the Big Qualicum River and spent much of his free time there doing what he loved and was so good at. This is where his family has spread his ashes.
Michael is survived by his wife Julia, children; Louise (Andy) Klimes and James Powsey, grandchildren; Tayla, Brie, Eilish, Maia and William, great grandchild Kain and brother Tony (Margaret) Powsey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal service.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mountain View two ward for their compassionate care.
“Dad is gone but won’t ever be forgotten.”
