Passed away suddenly on May 24, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, B.C. He was predeceased by his mother Rita and father Andy. Mike is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 43 years Linda, his son Darrin (Sandy), his daughter Jennifer (Marc), his grandchildren; Gabriel, Wyatt, Emily and Linsay, his brother Ted, his sister Pat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mike spent his entire career in the logging industry. He started by driving logging trucks to loading log barges for the last 35 years. In his leisure time, Mike enjoyed poker, traveling, walking daily with his dog Bailey and was passionately interested in politics. He gave energy, commitment and inspiration to his family and friends. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A Memorial Service for Mike will be held on Monday, June 1st, 2009 at the Filberg Lodge and Park, 61 Filberg Road, Comox at 1:00 p.m.
