January 16, 1937 - February 15, 2008
Mike passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, B.C. February 15, 2008. Mike will be sadly missed by his wife Luella, son Michael (Donna), daughter Karen (Ian), step-grandchildren Kate and Geoffrey, pooches Lucy and Shasta, and many relatives across Canada.
Mike was born in Swan River, Manitoba to a family of 18 brothers and sisters. He married Lu on October 12, 1963 and settled in Courtenay, B.C. in 1975 to raise his family.
Mike trained as an auto mechanic and took great pride in operating his own shop "Mike's Automotive Repair". He was an active member of the Comox Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church serving as a deacon and board member. His leisure activities included travelling, camping, gardening, motor biking, inventing and building many mechanical machines and gadgets, as well as spending time with family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 27th at 3:00 pm at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 4660 Headquarters Rd. Pastor Peter Fritz will officiate.
