Moira, a resident of Courtenay B.C., passed away peacefully at Comox Valley Reginal Hospital on Saturday May 8, 2021 comforted by her loving family and her amazing Nurse Emma who gave her great care and compassion to the end. Moira was born October 11, 1940 in Montrose Scotland to John and Helen Frost.
She spent her youth in Scotland and completed her Undergraduate Degree in Chemistry at St Andrews University. Upon completion of University, she immigrated to Canada to pursue her master's degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
It was on this journey to Canada that Moira met the love of her life Ed on the Empress of Canada Trans-Atlantic Voyage. Moira and Ed married on Dec 19th, 1964 and spent 57 glorious years together of which most of this time was spent in their beloved town Revelstoke, B.C.
Moira was a loving wife to Ed, mother to Davin (Tanya), grandmother to Kaeli, Kyler, and Carson. She is survived in Scotland by her sister-in-law Claire and her niece Claire (Jr.). Moira was predeceased by her infant son Kevin and brother Tom.
Before moving to Revelstoke Moira and Ed lived in Vancouver where Moira worked as a Chemistry Instructor at Simon Fraser University and even Co-authored a chemistry textbook with one of her co-workers.
Upon moving to Revelstoke her real passion for volunteer work took over and she became lovingly involved with many organizations. The most notable are, Chairman of the Board Queen Victoria Hospital, B.C. Ski Association, Canadian National Ski association, BC and National Branches of the Canadian Ladies Golf Association, City of Revelstoke, and ATV BC.
Moira loved to play golf in Revelstoke with her many friends on Ladies night and even managed to win a few tournaments here and there including a Gold Medal at the B.C. Summer games. She enjoyed family trips to the cabin on Shuswap lake and the many hiking adventures taken into the mountains of B.C. In addition to everything else Moira was active within the Order of Eastern Star Grand Chapter of British Columbia and Yukon.
Moira will be cremated with her ashes to be placed at the family plot in Revelstoke and the golf course in Montrose, Scotland.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic restrictions a celebration of life for Moira will be held at a later date to allow all who wish to attend the opportunity.
Moira's Husband Ed would like to thank his family for their loving care during this most difficult time.
