Passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday December 26, 2006 with her husband Ron by her side, at the age of 72. She is survived by:
husband Ron, daughter Carla Marie Fiorentino and grandson Anthony James Fiorentino of Calgary, daughter Connie (David) Laing and her children: Carson, Caley, Austin and Pierce also of Calgary, and by her brother Doug (Petra) Tomlinson, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was born in Calgary, Alberta on October 7, 1934. After the loss of her parents at an early age, she was raised by her grandparents along with her brother on the farm in Halkirk, Alberta where her love of horses developed. She spent much of her life in Calgary, riding in the Calgary Stampede Parade on several occasions. She moved to the Valley in 1991 operating Ponderosa Sod Farm until retirement in 1995.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, Courtenay.
