In Loving Memory ~
With deep sadness we announce the passing of our Mum on January 11th, 2022 at the age of 97. She was born in Victoria (1924) and spent her life living on this beautiful island. From Workpoint barracks in Esquimalt as a child, to communities such as Prospect Lake, Comox, Cordova Bay, Cobble Hill, Mill Bay, finally returning to the Comox Valley to be nearer to her daughter and family. Wherever Mum lived she made deep and lasting friendships.
Mum worked at the Victoria Machinery Depot that once was at Ogden Point, during the 2nd World War, riveting wings for the airplanes used in service and combat.
She had a keen interest in her family ancestry and was fortunate to be able to visit the ancestral castle of her great-grandfather in fall 1993 with her brother and sister-in-law. Kylemore castle, built 1871, is now an Abbey and is located in County Galway, Ireland.
Survived by her children and step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends who became family, Mum leaves behind a legacy of love, and we will miss her.
