December 18, 1938 - September 16, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Myrna. Mom left us on her own terms, at peace, with love in her heart, and her sons by her side. Although we will miss her immensely, we take comfort knowing that her recent health struggles are over, and that she will be reunited with her husband Grant (predeceased 2016), and their furry companions Scooter and Ollie.
Myrna will be greatly missed by her large extended family, but her enthusiasm and joy will continue on in the lives of her grandchildren, Justine, Brady, Spencer, Zoe, and great granddaughter Avery.
Mom raised two (often misbehaving) boys on her own, during difficult times, but she never complained, and always made sure that we had the necessities of life. We sometimes reminisced about the circuitous and unlikely journey that brought us from the lean times on Duff Court to the beautiful Comox Valley, and how thankful and lucky we are. "Isn't it fitting that you are both here for my passing" she said. "Our team of three has been together for such a long time".
Special thanks to the amazing Kat, Comox Valley Home Support, Seacove Medical Clinic staff, Jean Boylan, and Mom's neighbours for helping her live a happy and dignified life in recent years. Mom and Grant's ashes will be spread at their special watercolour painting and lunch spot in the near future.
